THE Christadelphians are a community of Bible Students who are dedicated to the promotion and practice of original Biblical teaching as demonstrated by the First Century followers of Christ.  We base our fundamental beliefs on those things which are found in both the Old and New Testament, recognizing that God's plan of salvation for mankind can only be understood by a complete consideration of the writings of the Prophets of Israel in direct connection to those teachings found in what is known as the New Testament.  We believe that the entire Bible is the inspired word of God which can only provide man with the needed information for salvation (II Timothy 3:15,16).  We accept no other documents (e.g., Book of Mormon, Koran, Papal Decrees) as valid testimonies of God's will.

The Christadelphians (Greek name meaning, "Brethren of Christ") have been an established group since the mid 1800's through the efforts of a man named John Thomas.  John Thomas was an English medical doctor who came to the United States in the 1830's.  He claimed neither to be a prophet or Divinely Inspired, but recognized through a study of the scriptures that the beliefs and teachings of the Apostles were not to be found among the traditions of the popular religions of the time.  Out of his labors, and others of like mind, came the group now known as the Christadelphians.

We are a world-wide group made up of local organizations known as "Ecclesias".  The word "ecclesia" is used to define local assemblies instead of the word "church".  The name "ecclesia" is from the original Greek word that is commonly translated "church".  We feel that "ecclesia"(or literally "called out ones") better represents the meaning being expressed by the scriptures.  We have no central leadership or "Headquarters".  All decisions and projects are accomplished on a local basis or by joint Ecclesial efforts.  The Christadelphians are a lay movement with no paid or organized clergy.

We live in constant expectation that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is soon to return to the earth.  Upon His return we believe, as the scriptures teach, that rather than destroying the earth He will establish a worldwide and everlasting Kingdom on it, which will constitute a restoration of the ancient Kingdom of Israel, and a full restoration of the Jews to their land - Acts 1:6; Luke 1:32,33; Ezekiel 37.  This will mean an end to the current political powers and an establishment of a world capitol in Jerusalem (Daniel 2:44; Micah 4:1-3).  We believe that Christ will personally rule over this Kingdom for a thousand years, which at the end of that time he will turn over complete sovereignty to God (I. Corinthians 15:24; Revelation 20:6).  This is at the center of our Hope and it is our expectation that those who are deemed worthy of acceptance at the Judgment Seat of Christ (to take place upon His return, and after the resurrection of the dead in Christ) will be granted the gift of immortality, and will receive joint inheritance on this earth (not in heaven) of the benefits of the Kingdom as outlined by the promises made to Abraham (Genesis 13:14-17; 17:6-8;  Galatians 3:29; Matthew 5:5;16:27; I. Corinthians 15:entire chapter; Daniel 7:27).

We believe that because of the Sin of Adam and Eve that the entire human race is in a terrible plight, subject to suffering and condemned to death (Genesis 3:19; Romans 5:12) .  But, God in His love and mercy has provided a way for man to escape eternal death through the sacrificial work of His Son (John 3:16; Romans 5:8-11; 8:1-3).  This escape can only come by a proper understanding of what God has revealed in the Bible, and upon a clear understanding and faith of this message one must be baptized in the Name of Christ, with a clear conception as to the meaning, purpose, and nature of Jesus' sacrificial death (Mark 16:16; Romans 1:16; Galations 1:6-8).

We believe that a correct understanding of God's plan and purpose for this earth, "The things concerning the Kingdom of God and the Name of Jesus Christ", is absolutely necessary  if one wishes to have any hope beyond the grave and to be a participant in the glorious benefits that will be bestowed in the Coming Age.    May the reader of this site take advantage of the information and resources offered here to further investigate these issues so as to decide whether or not what is here provided is according to Bible Truth.  Do not take our word for anything; please take the time to investigate the scriptures to see if what we teach is supported by Divine Testimony.
